Simplicia Medicinal Plants


Simplicia is a term used to refer to natural medicinal ingredients that are in original form or has not experienced a change in shape. Simplicia divided into three categories, namely:

1. simplicia vegetable

Simplicia vegetable is simplicia that can be either whole plants, plant parts, exudates plant, or a combination of all three, for example, Datura Folium and Fructus nigri Piperis.
Exudates of plants is the content of cells that spontaneously out of the plant or in some way accidentally  eleased from his cell. Plant exudates can be either substances or materials other vegetable materials which in some way separated / isolated from the plant.

2. simplicia animal

Simplicia animal is an animal that can be intact at; au useful substances produced by animals and not in the form of pure chemicals, such as fish oil (oleum iecoris asselli) and honey (Mel depuratum).

3. Simplicia pelicans or mineral

Simplicia pelicans or mineral is simplicia a pelican or mineral materials has not been processed or have been treated with a simple and yet be pure chemicals, samples of zinc powder and copper powder.
Simplicia medicinal plants included in the class simplicia vegetable. in general simplicia any mention of the name or names based on a combination of species followed with the name of the plant. Example: the name of pepper species Piperis Albi hence the name simplisia called Albi Piperis Fructus. Fructus shows part of the plant means fruit. Table 1.
